BJP seeks Israel help against Naxals

Indian Express news service - Thu Dec 16 2010 - New Delhi:

BJP president Nitin Gadkari, who is leading a party delegation to Israel, has said the Israeli homeland security services could explore ways to cooperate with NDA-led state governments facing Maoist menace. Gadkari — who is accompanied by senior BJP leaders, including Vasundhara Raje and Ramlal among others — made this suggestion to the Israeli agencies after a presentation was made to the visiting delegation.

Speaking after the presentation, Gadkari said he advised the Israeli homeland security services to organise special presentations for Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and Bihar, which are facing the challenge of Maoist violence, said a press communique issue by the BJP in Delhi on Wednesday. The BJP delegation also attended a reception hosted by Israel-India Friendship Association and the Marathi Jewish Community in Israel. Addressing the reception, Gadkari said his visit to Israel was an attempt to promote political-level dialogue as well as people-to-people contact between the two countries.
